According to reports provided by the Aiken Department of Public Safety:

A 44-year-old Aiken man was detained for DUI on Thursday after being pulled over on Whiskey Road for disregarding a traffic signal. The man smelled strongly of alcohol and exhibited signs of intoxication. He was taken into custody after failing multiple field sobriety tests, and provided a breath sample that yielded a .19 percent blood-alcohol content.

A 31-year-old Aiken man was detained for shoplifting on Thursday after he tried to take toothbrushes, razors and shoes from a store on Richland Avenue without paying.

A 47-year-old man was detained for shoplifting on Thursday after he tried to take several items from a store on Whiskey Road without paying. He was also charged with trespass after notice.

Burglaries were reported Thursday on Harold Lane and Maurice Terrace.

A vehicle break-in was reported Wednesday on Gyles Road. The owner reported a purse missing.

A vehicle was reported stolen from Chesterfield Street on Thursday.

According to reports provided by the Aiken County Sheriff's Office:

A North Augusta man reported on Thursday that an unknown driver threw a glass bottle out of their window, striking the victim's vehicle and damaging a headlight.

An Aiken man reported identity theft on Wednesday after learning that someone created a fake credit card account in his name and made online purchases in several states with it.

A Wagener man reported a pit bull stolen from his home on Quattlebaum Road on Thursday.

A burglary was reported on Oak Drive in Jackson on Thursday.

A vehicle break-in was reported on Clover Ridge Court in Beech Island on Thursday. The owner reported a hunting scope missing.

Vehicles were reported stolen from Diamond Street in Bath and Valley Drive in Aiken.
