Letter: Don’t vote for Graham in primary
I urge everyone to please pick any candidate but U.S. Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., in the upcoming Senate primary.
A couple of points: first, electability is a concern we all share. The likely Democratic opponent is S.C. Sen. Brad Hutto, D-S.C., rhymes with “Jabba the Hutto,” a virtually unelectable ultra-liberal Democrat who is pro-abortion, pro-homosexual marriage and pro-only solar energy. With Graham’s terrible voting record on immigration, on liberal justices, on “cap and trade,” on higher taxes, on the debt ceiling, on gun control and on so much more, replacing him on the ticket is a bet worth taking.
Remember, Graham praised Clinton as “the best secretary of state in my lifetime.” Yes, he really said that. Worse, Graham was one of the “Gang of Eight” who negotiated the amnesty/open boarders immigration bill opposed by 32 Republican senators.
Graham has voted with Obama well over 50 percent of the time. In 2011, his pro-Obama record was the sixth worst among Republicans. Yes, the sixth worst. This is truly disgraceful and an embarrassment to South Carolina.
I want a unified Republican Party, but Graham has simply got to go. Despite his television commercials, Graham is really and truly ABC: anything but conservative.
