Have you ever noticed how some people just seem to have the knowledge and the energy to get things done? With our interconnected, fast paced and increasingly complex world, we need more than ever those that can just “get it done.”
The military promotes those who “get it done,” companies hire and advance those who “get it done,” communities recognize those who “get it done.” So too we should seek this in our politicians. U.S. Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., is one of those who gets things done, things done for our region, our state and our nation.
Graham understands veterans. He is one. In a Congress where less than 10 percent have served, and in a nation that demands a lot from our service members, it’s important that we have veterans in our congress.
As a veteran, I’m glad that he is there. Graham advocates for the Savannah River Site. He has strengthened its role in national security, homeland security, energy security and environmental remediation; and he cares for and protects its past and current employees. That’s important. It’s the largest employer in our region and one of the largest in the state.
As a former CEO of the company that operates SRS, I know first-hand of his interest and effectiveness. Graham was just a phone call away and was critical to generating congressional support, state support and for holding the Department of Energy accountable. Some of the actions seemed impossible, but he just got them done.
Graham knows how to make our democracy work. Our system may sometimes seem chaotic, but from serving overseas, I can attest it’s the best there is. We are fortunate to have his incumbency, his experience, his connections and his insight working for our nation, our state and our region.
Please help re-elect someone who will “get things done.” Re-elect Graham as our senior senator. He does us proud today. With our vote, he will continue to do so into the future.
