The City of Aiken is offering free mulch on a first-come, first-serve basis at Citizens Park on Monday through Saturday. Mulch will be available at the park adjacent to Stewart Field and Citizens Park 2 during regular park hours of sunrise to sunset. Residents must bring their own equipment to load and transport mulch. City equipment will not be available to assist with loading or transporting. The untreated chips were ground from tree and other vegetative debris collected after Winter Storm Pax. For more information about the free mulch, contact the Aiken Public Services Department at 642-7613.
