A Richmond County law enforcement officer reported several items stolen, including her badge and Social Security card, after someone entered her unlocked car on Thursday, according to the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office.

The incident was reported at a home on Gardenview Drive in Graniteville on Thursday, according to a sheriff’s report. The 51-year-old victim, who is an officer with the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office, reported that someone entered the unlocked Dodge Durango and took her Sheriff’s Office credentials, badge and a key card for training.

The thief also took several cards, including three debit cards, a Social Security card and a driver’s license, as well as cash, police said.

The report did not indicate if the Durango is the victim’s personal vehicle or a police-issued cruiser.

A gun was reported stolen in another vehicle break-in on Gardenview Drive Thursday.
