Authorities are searching for a man wanted in Richmond County after he led police on a vehicle chase on Wednesday morning, according to the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office.
The chase began in Beech Island and ended near Foreman Floyd Circle in Aiken after the suspect wrecked his vehicle and fled on foot, according to Capt. Eric Abdullah, a spokesman for the Sheriff’s Office. Officers are now searching the area around Foreman Floyd Circle and Petticoat Junction for the suspect, and the Aiken County Bloodhound Tracking Team has been brought in to assist in the search.
The suspect, Demarcus Lopez Hilton, is described as a black male about 5-foot-8 and 160 pounds, Abdullah said. He was last seen wearing blue jeans and no shirt.
Hilton is wanted in Richmond County for felony possession of a firearm and obstruction of a police officer. Abdullah said he will face additional charges in Aiken County.
