According to reports provided by the Aiken Department of Public Safety:
A 12-year-old student was detained for third-degree assault and battery on Wednesday after he allegedly started a fight with another student by slapping him in the back of the head.
A 14-year-old boy and a 16-year-old girl were detained for disorderly conduct on Friday after allegedly fighting in school.
An Aiken business owner reported on Thursday that an unknown employee took a $186 check from the Richland Avenue restaurant.
A 32-year-old Springfield woman was detained for DUI on Saturday after she was pulled over on Hitchcock Parkway for drifting in her lane. She smelled strongly of alcohol and was taken into custody after failing multiple field sobriety tests.
A 25-year-old Warrenville man reported on Saturday that an unknown man pointed a gun at him outside a bar on Marlboro Street after an argument between the two inside the business. The suspect then fled the scene.
A 19-year-old Aiken woman was detained for disorderly conduct on Saturday after allegedly yelling obscenities out the window of a vehicle at pedestrians.
An 18-year-old Aiken man and a 17-year-old Aiken woman were detained for shoplifting on Saturday after they tried to take items from a store on Whiskey Road without paying.
A 58-year-old Jackson woman was detained for shoplifting on Sunday after she tried to take items from a store on Richland Avenue without paying.
An unknown man shoplifted two beers from a convenience store on York Street on Saturday.
A vehicle break-in was reported on Pendleton Street on Sunday. The owner reported a GPS device, a speaker and a razor missing from the unlocked vehicle.
Additional vehicle break-ins were reported on Lundee Drive and Laurens Street.
According to reports provided by the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office:
A lawn mower, chainsaw and fishing poles were reported stolen from a home on Wire Road in Aiken on Sunday.
A vehicle break-in was reported on Augusta Road in Clearwater on Sunday. The owner reported a purse, money and a handgun stolen.
An additional vehicle break-in was reported on Colonial Drive in Aiken on Sunday. The owner reported electronics missing.
