Aiken County Sheriff’s deputies responded to three shooting incidents early Sunday morning, according to a press release.

Two people were injured in a shooting that occurred at the Graniteville Recreation Center on Jefferson Davis Highway and nobody was hurt in the other two incidents, which occurred on Glenwood Drive and Laurel Avenue.

Deputies responded to the first shooting that occurred at 1:03 a.m. at the recreation center, according to the release. Witnesses told investigators that the subjects were firing from a white Chevrolet Impala, and they fled the area after colliding with another vehicle.

Two victims were found suffering from apparent gunshot injuries, the release stated.

“One victim had a wound to his lower back and the other victim had a self-inflicted gunshot wound to his lower pelvis,” the release read.

At about 1:45 a.m., deputies then responded to the 200 block of Glenwood Drive where witnesses said that a gray minivan stopped in front of a home and fired several shots into the house. The home was occupied but nobody was injured.

At about 2:41 a.m., deputies then responded to a shooting on the 100 block of Laurel Avenue. A witness told deputies that shots were fired from a white car driving by and bullets stuck a parked vehicle outside the residence. No injuries were reported.

These three cases are being investigated separately and are still on-going, according to the release.
