A North Augusta man is in jail in connection to a stabbing death that occurred in Augusta early Monday. Nathan Mims, 46, of Johnson Road in North Augusta, has been booked into the Richmond County Jail for murder and possession of a knife during the commission of a crime, according to Sgt. Michael McDaniel with the Richmond County Sheriff's Office. Mims and Naty Ortiz-Ramos, of Lumpkin Road in Augusta, were involved in a domestic dispute at an apartment on Lumpkin Road Monday morning when Mims allegedly began assaulting Ortiz-Ramos and stabbing her, McDaniel reported. Ortiz-Ramos died from her injuries. Mims stayed at the scene and surrendered to deputies when they arrived.
