TalkBack for April 24: Children, trash and gospel verses

Children first

Our schools are all falling apart, and now we’re hunting money so kids can get a decent school. It is obviously at the bottom of the list. We spent $37 million on a new county building. They have put themselves in first-rate accommodations, and the school children are in substandard buildings. The bathrooms don’t work, paint is peeling and the parents are supposed to go in and maintain this on the weekends. We need to kick out the County Council and put our children first.

Great show

If you missed the show at the Etherredge Center with performer Jeanne Robertson, you really missed a great show. Jeanne is not just funny, she is hilarious. Most of her show is based on personal experiences and her husband, who she refers to as “left brain.“ She has been awarded every top honor in her profession. Given the chance to see her, get your ticket early. They go fast.

Trash on roads

How do I report dumping on Shore Drive between Trolley Line and Senica? There is fast food trash, bottles and bags of garbage. That doesn’t count the storm debris pushed off the road after being cut down.

No confidence

The sheriff couldn’t run an ice cream stand, and the police in Aiken couldn’t catch a cold.

Gospel verses

Thanks to the Aiken Standard for the pictorials and gospel verses showing the events associated with the crucifixion of Jesus. Let’s hope that all adults and children seeing the pictures get a better appreciation for God and the son of God.
