Blotter for April 23

According to reports provided by the Aiken Department of Public Safety:

A 20-year-old Aiken man and an 18-year-old Charleston woman were detained for shoplifting on Monday after they tried to take video games from a store on Richland Avenue without paying.

Gunshots were reported outside Brandt Court Apartments at about 2:20 p.m. on Monday. Children on the scene told officers someone in a blue Dodge SUV fired the shots into the air and then fled the scene.

Gunshots were reported outside Pacers Run Apartments on Brandt Court on Monday. Witnesses told officers a group of individuals was fighting when the shots were fired. No injuries were reported.

Gunshots were reported on Sommers Avenue at about 10:30 p.m. on Monday. A witness reported hearing two gunshots; however, officers were unable to find any evidence of shots fired.

According to reports provided by the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office:

Multiple vehicle break-ins were reported on Maplewood Drive in North Augusta on Monday. None of the vehicles were locked.

Burglaries were reported on Coastal Drive in Beech Island, Gregory Road in Aiken and Stonemint Drive in Springfield.

A vehicle was reported stolen from Augusta Road in Warrenville on Monday.

Littering was reported on Monday after an unknown person dumped a load of tires beside the roadway on Stillwater Road near Colbert Bridge Road in Windsor. The tires ranged in size from tractor tires to motorcycle tires.
