Amelia Jane Carter of North Augusta traveled with other Clemson University students during spring break to help build a school with Students Helping Honduras.

Carter is a freshman marketing major.

Carter worked alongside students from other universities to build Democracia Middle School in El Progresso. The project was started by Clemson students during this past winter break.

The students mixed and poured concrete before laying the cinder block foundation of the school. They had the opportunity to spend time with the children of the village, tutoring them or starting games of soccer.
