Aiken Public Safety officers are looking for two robbery suspects who struck a couple of local businesses on Tuesday morning.

The first armed robbery occurred at 9 a.m. at the Title Max on Richland Avenue, and another incident was reported later that morning at the Local Finance on York Street, according to a press release. The two individuals were described as dressed in all black with their faces covered.

The first robbery was reported by a passer-by who saw the two subjects attempting to gain entry into the Title Max. Law enforcement was notified after the witness went to a business next door. Title Max employees saw the two subjects trying to enter the building and locked the doors. They also called police but the two subjects had fled before officers arrived.

Police ask that the passer-by who witnessed the two individuals trying to enter the building to please contact them so they can obtain more information about the incident.

Later that morning, an armed robbery was reported at Local Finance, and the two individuals matched the description of the subjects in the other incident.

They entered the Local Finance armed with handguns and demanded money from the employee. They then fled by foot with an undisclosed amount of money.

Investigators believe that both crimes are related. Anyone with information leading to the identification of these subjects is asked to contact Detective William Royster at 803-642-7685 or CrimeStoppers of the Midlands at 888-CRIME-SC. Individuals who contact CrimeStoppers may be eligible for a reward up to $1,000.
