A teenager died on Wednesday following a rollover accident in Jackson on Tuesday, according to the Aiken County Coronerís Office.
Kumar C. Falconer, 15, was pronounced dead at Georgia Regents Medical Center in Augusta at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Carlton said.
Falconer, a student at Silver Bluff High School, was the rear seat passenger in a 1999 Jeep driven by his brother.
The crash happened on Tuesday about 7:45 a.m. on Dragstrip Road in Jackson, Carlton said. The driver of the vehicle lost control, causing the vehicle to strike an embankment and overturn several times.
Falconer, the only person not wearing a seat belt, was ejected. Excessive speed appears to have been a factor in the crash.
There were two other passengers in the vehicle when the crash occurred, Carlton said. Their statuses were unknown at press time.
This is the fifth fatal crash in Aiken County in 2014.
