Aiken County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the scene of a strong-armed robbery that occurred in Beech Island on Tuesday afternoon.

The incident happened in the McDonald’s parking lot located on Sand Bar Ferry Road. According to Sheriff’s Capt. Eric Abdullah, it appeared that an employee of the restaurant was walking across the parking lot with a deposit for that location when the strong-armed robbery occurred.

Deputies are looking for one suspect who was said to have left in a dark-colored vehicle, according to scanner traffic.

Abdullah said on Tuesday afternoon that they are still in the early stages of the investigation.
