According to reports provided by the Aiken Department of Public Safety:
An Augusta woman and a Hephizbah woman were detained for shoplifting on Thursday after they tried to take several items from a store in Aiken Mall without paying.
Two unknown people allegedly took about $85 in merchandise from a store on Whiskey Road without paying.
Officers responded to a call of shots fired near the intersection of Powderhouse Road and Audubon Drive about 12:20 a.m. on Friday. A witness told officers he saw a light-colored Cadillac turn down Audubon at a high rate of speed and stop about halfway down the street, at which point someone inside the vehicle fired a gun. Officers searched the area and found several shell casings.
According to reports provided by the Aiken County Sheriff's Office:
A vehicle break-in was reported on Dixie Clay Road in Beech Island on Thursday. The owner reported a gun missing.
Additional vehicle break-ins were reported on New Castle Avenue in North Augusta on Wednesday.
A burglary was reported at a home on Hillman Street in Warrenville on Thursday. The owner reported money and firearms missing.
Additional burglaries were reported Thursday on Horseshoe Bend Road in Aiken and Edgemont Road in Aiken.
A vehicle was reported stolen from Currytown Lane in North Augusta on Wednesday.
