Police search for suspects in armed robbery

The Aiken Department of Public Safety is looking for two suspects involved in an armed robbery that occurred on Friday.

According to Det. Jeremy Hembree, the incident happened a few minutes before 10 a.m. at the Local Finance on York Street. No injuries were reported.

One man was armed with a handgun and demanded money. The two suspects then fled on foot.

Both suspects were described as black males of average height and build wearing mostly black. One man had a white bandana with pink accents covering his face, Hembree said.

The Aiken County Sheriff’s Office and the Aiken County bloodhound tracking team assisted Public Safety with the search.

No arrests have been made at this time, and the investigation is ongoing.
