Chesterfield Street traffic detour scheduled Saturday night

City of Aiken Engineering and Utilities crews will be repairing a sewer line on Chesterfield Street at Park Avenue on Saturday night and is expected to be complete by Sunday afternoon.

According to the Aiken Department of Public Safety, the work will begin at 10:30 p.m. on Saturday. All northbound traffic will be detoured onto South Boundary Avenue at Whiskey Road to use Laurens or York streets to continue north. Southbound traffic will be detoured at Park Avenue and Chesterfield Street and drivers will need to use Laurens or York streets to travel south.

Alternate routes to avoid this work zone are Powderhouse Road, Banks Mill Road or the 118 Bypass/Hitchcock Parkway south, according to Public Safety.
