Two men allegedly burglarized a Graniteville woman’s home after knocking on her door and asking to talk with her about church, according to the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office.

The incident happened Wednesday afternoon at a home on Green Street, according to a sheriff’s report.

The 86-year-old victim said two unknown men came to her home, “stating they wanted to talk to her about church.”

The victim said she never allowed the men into her home, nor did she see them inside, but she believes they ran into her home when she went to get them a glass of water.

The suspects left shortly after in a black SUV, the report stated.

The victim noticed a short time later that her jewelry box was missing. In the box were the victim’s 1944 class ring, a wedding band set, earrings, a bracelet and a necklace.

The victim told officers she had no clues to who the suspects may be, only that they were both white males and each went by the name “Johnson.”
