The Midland Valley High School baseball team had a productive night at the plate in a 8-3 win over Ninety Six. Brett Silas went 2-for-2 with a home run for the Mustangs (5-3), while teammates Joseph Whitt and Garret Boatwright (two RBIs) each went 2-for-3.
DJ Boyd (1-0) came out of the bullpen for the win for Midland Valley, which is back in action tonight at Gilbert. First pitch is set for 6:30 p.m.

Midland Valley (7-2, 1-1 Region 5-AAA) scored four runs in the top of the seventh at Gilbert, but it wasn’t enough to get Emily Mayson (5-1) off the hook for her first loss of the year.
After five early errors helped put the Mustangs in a 5-0 hole, they were able to get doubles off the bats of Taylor Allen, Morgan Smith and Jace Bennefield and a home run from Haley Fleming in their last at-bat. Fleming and Bennefield had two RBIs each in the frame, but the rally came up short.
Midland Valley will be back in action on Friday at region foe Swansea.

South Aiken (1-2) couldn’t get the offense going on Tuesday with Megan Martin (1-2) taking the loss in the circle.
Natalie Bolen went 1-for-2 with a double for the T-Breds, who will host Barnwell today at 5:30 p.m.

South Aiken (2-6, 1-1 Region 5-AAAA) picked up its first region win on a game-winning infield single by Caroline Hicks, who had two hits and a pair of RBIs on Tuesday night.
With Natalie Hornsby picking up the win in the circle, Brook Hutto and Emily Harley each had two hits.
The T-Breds will travel to play region foe White Knoll on Friday.

Schofield picked up the team win at Midland Valley Country Club, and Whit Larlee notched his third medalist honor in as many matches with a score of 40.
