According to reports provided by the Aiken Department of Public Safety:
An Aiken woman reported on Monday that someone had taken two 15-speed bicycles from a rental home that she owns on Marlboro Street. The metal chains used to secure the bicycles to the wooden deck in the rear of the house also were missing. One of the bikes was white, and the other was purple.
An Aiken woman reported on Monday that she left her purse and her wallet in a shopping cart at Kroger on Whiskey Road on Saturday. She said she since had gone back to Kroger to see if they had been turned it, but they hadn’t.
A 57-year-old Aiken woman was arrested for shoplifting on Monday at Wal-Mart on Richland Avenue. A male complainant accused her of taking bottles of Metabolite Ultra and Garcinia Cambogia and pouring their contents into her purse. The complainant also said that the woman picked up a pair of Foster Grant reading glasses and cut off the tag with a pair of blue-handled scissors.
According to reports provided by the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office:
An Aiken woman reported on Monday that someone had taken her debit card from her house on Beaver Creek Lane in Aiken and used it. Other items also were missing from the house.
A Connecticut man reported on Monday that someone removed “50 feet of copper” from property that he owns on Huckabee Street in Bath. The victim also reported that he found a flashlight in the house on the property.
An Aiken man reported on Monday that someone broke into a house on J.B. Swartz Road in Wagener and took multiple items. The responding officer observed that the rear door of the residence was standing open, but didn’t see any damage to the door or the doorframe.
A Warrenville man reported on Monday that someone took the license tag from his vehicle that was parked outside his home on Turnbull Street.
A white male subject wearing a gray hoodie and jeans was accused of taking an “unknown amount of merchandise” from Sprint Foods on Jefferson Davis Highway in North Augusta on Monday. The male complainant said he saw the subject, estimated to be 24 or 25 years of age, pick up some Slim Jims. After the subject walked to the next aisle, he didn’t have the Slim Jims in his hand, according to the complainant. The subject left the store after walking to the register, placing a pair of sunglasses on the counter and asking where the bathroom was.
An Aiken woman reported on Monday that someone had damaged the air conditioning unit at her home on Lincoln Avenue. The responding officer observed that some pieces of metal tubing were missing from inside the unit.
A Trenton man reported on Monday that someone had taken his 1995 Ford Bronco from outside of his home on Edgefield Highway. The responding officer found out that the vehicle had been involved in a traffic accident in Aiken after it had “left the scene” and gave the victim that information.
Three tires were taken from a car while it was parked in a garage on Summerhill Drive in Aiken. The tires were discovered to be missing on Tuesday.
A North Augusta man reported on Tuesday that someone in a Dodge Charger fired a .40 Smith & Wesson pistol in the parking lot of a hotel on Jefferson Davis Highway in Clearwater. The victim said he chased the unknown subject down Jefferson Davis Highway, but stopped following the shooter after the subject turned into a mobile home park. A male complainant said gunshots were “fired on” a black Dodge Charger and then a silver Dodge Charger fled the scene. The responding officer found a .40 Smith & Wesson shell casing in the hotel parking lot.
A 56-year-old North Augusta woman who lives on Sudlow Ridge Road accused a 22-year-old North Augusta man on Monday of using her debit card without her permission the day after she asked him to go to Wal-Mart to get her some supplies because she was sick. The subject told the responding officer he had “taken” $40 extra from her debit card and had removed another $7 from her wallet while getting the supplies. But the subject said he did not use the debit card the next day because he had already returned it to the woman.
A female complainant reported on Monday that a white male wearing a light-colored hoodie, jeans and a black hat took a cell phone from Dollar General on Jefferson Davis Highway in Clearwater without paying for it. She said the subject used a pair of scissors from the store to open the package containing the cell phone, put the cellphone “in his pocket” and left the scissors on a shelf before leaving Dollar General.
A North Augusta woman reported on Monday that someone stole a Kindle Fire, quarters and dimes and medication from the bedroom of her home on Sudlow Ridge Road. She also said that a jar with money in it in the bedroom was “lighter feeling than before.”
An Aiken woman reported on Monday that someone took multiple items from her home on Edgemont Street in Aiken. The responding officer observed damage to windows of the house’s rear door.
An Aiken man reported on Monday that someone took an iPad and a BlackBerry device from his vehicle while it was parked outside his home on Creekside Drive.
A suspicious fire was reported on Monday at a house on Bay Street in Warrenville on Monday. A male complainant from Aiken said that he saw a white sedan with a white male driver back out of the house’s driveway and then turn left on Wall Street. A few minutes later, the complainant saw smoke coming from the house and called 911.
A Williston woman accused a Williston man of trying to force the vehicle that she was driving off the road with his vehicle on Charleston Highway in Windsor on Monday. She had three passengers in her vehicle.
An Aiken woman reported on Monday that someone in a camper on the property next to hers on Snipes Road had connected the camper to her well with PVC piping. She said her electric bill had been higher in recent months, but didn’t want to press charges.
A burglary was reported at homes on Shasta Daisy Path and Sunfest Drive in North Augusta on Monday.
A Warrenville woman reported on Monday that someone took two iron bed frames from a shed on her property on McDonald Street. She said she saw a white male, who was running from her property, jump into a white two-door Chevy and flee the scene. The responding officer observed pry marks on the front door of the victim’s shed.
A North Augusta man reported on Monday that someone stole his vehicle from the parking lot of the Circle K on Jefferson Davis Highway in North Augusta. He said he left the vehicle’s engine running and that the vehicle was unlocked.
