YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. — The 12th-ranked USC Aiken baseball team gave up five runs in the bottom of the ninth inning Saturday afternoon to fall 7-6 to Young Harris College, dropping the Peach Belt Conference series 2-1.

The Pacers (17-7, 7-5 PBC) led 6-2 heading into the final half frame but were unable to close out as the Mountain Lions (12-14, 3-9 PBC) scored five runs, including a two-run walk-off home run from Josh Rudnik.

Prior to the final inning, the Pacers scored single runs in the top of the second and eighth innings and put up two runs in both the fifth and seventh frames.

Tyler Moore, Ty Barkell and Grayson Smith all scored two runs for the nationally-ranked Pacers in the contest, with Moore leading the way at the dish with a 3-5 outing. Sean Miller went 2-3 at the plate, and Matt Bosse was the only other Pacer to record multiple hits.

Young Harris had six players cross the plate to score with Trey Rogers crossing twice. Adam Moore, Rogers and Rudnik all collected two hits each.

USCA will next play a single mid-week contest against Paine College. The Pacers and Panthers will play at Roberto Hernandez Stadium on Wednesday at 6 p.m.
