According to reports provided by the Aiken Department of Public Safety:
Two 15-year-old girls were detained for shoplifting on Tuesday after they tried to take items from a store on Whiskey Road without paying by concealing them in their book bags. One of the girls was also charged with providing false information after she lied to officers about her mother’s identity and location. They were each booked and released to their guardians.
A 39-year-old McCormick woman was detained for shoplifting on Tuesday after she tried to take a chest filled with clothing items from a store on Whiskey Road without paying.
A 42-year-old North Augusta man was charged with shoplifting on Tuesday after he tried to return items from the store in order to receive cash back.
A 57-year-old Graniteville woman was jailed for shoplifting on Wednesday after she tried to conceal items in a handbag at a store on Richland Avenue. She was also charged with possession of prescription medication without a prescription after officers found several white pills in her possession.
A 21-year-old Aiken woman was jailed for shoplifting on Wednesday after she tried to take lotion and “imitation hair” from a store on Richland Avenue without paying.
A 40-year-old North Augusta woman was detained for shoplifting on Wednesday after she tried to take $270 in merchandise from a store in Aiken Mall.
A vehicle break-in was reported on Portofino Lane on Wednesday. The owner reported tools missing.
An additional vehicle break-in was reported on Kershaw Street on Wednesday.
According to reports provided by the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office:
An Aiken man reported a suspicious package on a drain pipe beside Old Camp Long Road in Aiken on Wednesday. An officer inspected the package, which appeared to contain materials to manufacture methamphetamine.
