Aiken County deputies responded to the scene of an apparent home invasion on the 1300 block of Oxpens Road in Warrenville on Tuesday.

The call came in at 9:18 a.m. by an 11-year-old child who was home alone, sick but fled to a neighbor's house unharmed, according to dispatch.

Deputies said that two men entered through the back door of the home by breaking a window, and the child ran out the front door to his neighbor's house to call 911.

Some items were stolen during the break-in but were later recovered while the Aiken County bloodhound tracking team was searching for the suspects, according to police.

The K9 unit was called in to track the suspects, who were described as two black males ranging from their late teens to early their 20s. One man was wearing all black, and the other was wearing some black clothing and a green hooded sweatshirt or hat.

Warrenville Elementary School went on soft lockdown during the search.

No arrests were made in the incident, which is still under investigation.
