Blotter for March 10
According to reports provided by the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office:
A Windsor man reported a burglary on Saturday at a home under construction on Rainbow Ridge Circle where he was working as a contractor. The frames of the front and rear doors had been damaged. He said someone had entered the house through an unsecured window. No items were missing.
An Aiken man and woman, who live on Duke Drive, reported on Saturday that someone had made unauthorized purchases using their joint Woodforest National Bank card.
A North Augusta woman, who appeared to be intoxicated and smelled strongly of alcohol, was taken into custody on Saturday in the parking lot of the Easy Stop on Belvedere-Clearwater Road in North Augusta. According to the responding officer, the subject was wearing a black sweat shirt, but was naked below the waist.
A Warrenville man reported on Saturday that someone broke the driver’s side window of his vehicle, which was parked outside of his home on Jackson Street. Money and a CD case with 14 country music CDs in it were missing. The money, which was in the trunk, included $100 bills, 35 silver dollars and 22 Kennedy half dollars.
An Aiken man reported on Friday that someone stole several firearms from his home on Edgemont Street. Missing were a Walther P22 semi-automatic pistol, a .410 pump-action shotgun, a 7 millimeter bolt action rifle, a 12 gauge pump-action shotgun and a .22 semi-automatic gun.
A Beech Island woman reported on Saturday that someone broke out the front driver’s side window of her vehicle in the parking lot of Bi-Lo on Jefferson Davis Highway in Clearwater. She said a GPS and PC tablet were taken. Also, on the same day at the same location, a Ridge Spring woman reported that someone broke the passenger side window of her vehicle and took a GPS and cellphone charger.
A Batesburg man reported on Saturday that his maroon 1994 Lincoln Town Car had been stolen in Ridge Spring.
A Wagener man reported on Saturday that military equipment had been stolen from a shed on his property on Henry Steadman Circle. Six plastic boxes also were missing. The man said he had returned home because he was on leave from the Army. He noticed that a lock on the shed had been broken off.
An Aiken woman reported on Saturday that a vehicle was stolen while it was parked on Kalmia Apartments Drive in Graniteville.
A Clearwater woman reported on Saturday that someone broke out the bedroom window in her home and stole a pink ceramic piggy bank with change in it. She said a wooden chair in the living room had been moved and had a scratch on it.
A Warrenville woman reported on Saturday that someone had deflated the right front tire of her vehicle while it was parked outside her home on Campbell Court.
A North Augusta man reported on Saturday that someone took a boat and trailer from near a private pond on Storm Branch Road in Beech Island. The man said he owned the boat with a business partner, who lives in Evans, Ga.
An Aiken man reported on Saturday that two men discharged a firearm on Fig Grove Lane in Warrenville within 200 yards of homes and children at play. The responding officer spoke to the subjects, who said they had both fired at a mound of dirt on a vacant lot with a 9-millimeter handgun. The responding officer noticed children playing in the woods and several trailers nearby, and he told the subjects they would be charged if they were caught discharging a firearm in an unsafe manner again.
A Warrenville woman reported on Saturday that someone had damage a window in her home on M and K Street. The responding officer observed two circular holes in the window.
A 27-year-old Augusta man was arrested on Saturday after allegedly snatching a purse from an Aiken woman at the CVS Pharmacy on Belvedere Road in Beech Island. The subject said he was attempting to get back a cellphone that the victim had taken from him.
A Jackson woman reported on Saturday that someone broke the rear window of her vehicle that was parked outside of her home on Trotter Court.
