Letter: Why no outcry over federal funds?

Where are the local Tea Partiers when we need them? I canít help but notice the resounding silence surrounding the federal government paying millions of dollars in clean up costs in Aiken County. Nor was a word said about the extra-ordinary amount of money spent to keep the Mixed Oxide Fuel Fabrication Facility Ė or MOX Ė running.

In fact, I donít recall anything said when the federal government paid the cost of the Graniteville water system Ė (part of Obamaís stimulus that they so love to hate), or the Laurens Street railroad bridge or ... well, you get my point. I tried real hard, but couldnít find anything in the Constitution about any of them.

This is precisely why no matter who is in power in Washington, D.C., no one will have any impact on the budget. We always want to cut the other guyís money, but donít take anything away from me.
