Widow of Sonny Ford receives plaque of appreciation

Wanda Ford stands proudly with Cinnamon, the horse of her late husband Sonny Ford, with a plaque of appreciation which was presented to her on Feb. 22 at the celebration after the Black History Parade held in Aiken by the Black Historical Committee. She was also the fortunate winner of the second-place trophy for the float “In Memory of Sonny Ford.” Though Sonny had entered the Black History Parade several times over the years, he had never won any prizes. However, this year he did.
