The American Legion Auxiliary Unit 71 is sponsoring a Dinner with Elvis, featuring Russell Schneider on Friday, Feb. 28 at 6 p.m. The event will be held at American Legion Post 71 located at 333 East Pine Grove Ave. to 9 p.m. Tickets are $20 each or two for $35 and may be purchased at Parks Pharmacy on Georgia Avenue or Sno-Cap Drive-In on West Avenue. Tuesday, March 4

The Heritage Council of North Augusta will meet at the Community Center, at 7 p.m. The council will present the Honorable Bob Young, former Mayor of Augusta, Ga. Young will speak about the CSS Georgia ­– a Confederate Ironclad on the Savannah River. Find out about: the South Carolina connection to the CSS Georgia, a 63-year old widow of a former Georgia governor and how she is linked to it, why the Savannah River was a bigger obstacle to the CSS Georgia than the Union navy, what the railroad T-rails had to do with the CSS Georgia and, how the Union blockade ships responded to the CSS Georgia.

Wednesday, March 5

North Augusta High School students Nick Butler, Jacqueline Phillips and Zane Stripling will be presenting I-Care at North Augusta Elementary at 8 a.m. on March 5. They have invited Lora Lee Kokavich to join them in their presentation to exercise with the children and to stress the importance of exercise.
