U.S. Rep. Joe Wilson, R–S.C., will hold his second Veterans Fair next week to give veterans and local agencies a chance to discuss job opportunities in the CSRA.

The fair will be held on Monday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Aiken County Shrine Club located at 1526 Columbia Highway N. near the fairgrounds.

There will also be another fair held on March 10 in Columbia. Admittance is free.

Wilson's Communications Director Caroline Delleney said there are more than 70 confirmed participants.

She added the office hears from veterans regularly who are discouraged with their job hunt.

“The purpose of the function is to better connect our veterans with available resources,” she said on Wilson's behalf. “Transitioning from military to civilian life can be challenging for our veterans. Often times, the skill sets learned while serving are military specific, making it difficult to find employment.”

Participating agencies include the Social Security Administration, Military Officers Association of America, American Red Cross, Hidden Wounds, Veterans Affairs, South Carolina National Guard, UPS and Honor Flight S.C.

Any other companies or organizations that wish to participate should call Ted Fielder, Wilson's special assistant, at 803-642-6418.
