Woman injured during alleged car jacking

A Springfield woman reported being assaulted during an attempted car jacking on Thursday, according to the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office.

The incident happened at about 8:10 p.m. at the intersection of Weeks Road and White Pond Road in Williston, according to a sheriff’s report. The 31-year-old victim said she was stopped at the intersection when an unknown suspect tried to pull her out of her car and assaulted her by punching her in the head and face, causing visible injuries.

The victim was unable to provide officers with a description of the suspect. She was transported by EMS to Aiken Regional Medical Centers for treatment.
