Find gently used social, prom dresses at Dream Dress Sale
The Dream Dress Sale on Saturday will benefit the Dream Dance Academy companies and features previously worn social and prom dresses from $50-$250.
The sale will be held at the South Aiken Presbyterian Fellowship Hall from 9 a.m. to noon.
The cost to enter the event is $5 cash for two guests between 9-11 a.m. and no charge from 11 a.m. to noon. No men are allowed into the event because, while mirrors will be provided, there are no dressing rooms, according to organizers. Attendees wishing to try on dresses should come wearing items such as leotards, camis and leggings.
Judy's Alterations will also be at the event to make altering dresses convenient.
“This is our second Dream Dress Sale and we are hoping for a good response from the community,” said event coordinator Missy Byrne. “Those who attended our last event were thrilled with the selection and the pricing.”
The group is still accepting dresses for consignment at the event. Interested persons should bring clean social and prom dresses that are in good condition to the fellowship hall between 5:30-7:30 p.m. today. Sellers will receive 80 percent of the value of each of their dresses that sell during the event. Dresses must be valued at $50, $100, $150, $200 or $250.
Crinolines will also be accepted for consignment at the event. Sellers will pick up payment checks and dresses/crinolines that did not sell at the fellowship hall between noon and 2 p.m. the day of the event. Checks not picked up will be mailed. Dresses not picked up will be donated.
Proceeds from the event will benefit the Dream Dance Academy dance companies and go toward the purchase of props and backdrops for studio shows and community performances.
