John Brian “Jack”Clements
AIKEN – Mr. John Brian “Jack” Clements, 85, passed away Monday, February 17, 2014.
A Requiem Mass will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday at St. Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church.
Jack was born in Spartanburg, SC, a son of the late Otha and Juanita Matthews Clements and brother of the late Joyce Clements. He was a graduate of Wofford College, and started his career in radio as an on-air personality in Anderson, SC, and he eventually retired as President of Westwood One/NBC Radio. He enjoyed over twenty years of retirement in Aiken where he was a member of St. Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church.
Jack is survived by his beloved wife of 46 years, Joan Roncevich Clements; their marriage was a true love story and an inspiration to anyone who spent time in their company. He is also survived by three daughters, Anne Hinek, Charlottesville, VA, Amanda (John) Butler, Salisbury, MD, Ruth Greer, Charlottesville; two sons, Brian (Kathleen) Clements, Fairfax, VA, Christopher (Jennifer) Clements, Carlisle, PA; 12 grandchildren; one great grandchild; and “brother” (in-law), John Roncevich (Maureen). He was adored by his 3 nieces, 2 nephews and their spouses and children.
Jack’s legacy of quick wit, keen intuition and fierce loyalty will forever be a part of those who had the privilege of knowing and loving him.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church, 203 Park Ave., SE, Aiken, SC 29801, or the Salvation Army, 322 Gayle Ave. NW, Aiken, SC 29801.
