An unknown woman allegedly warned a store clerk of a possible robbery, according to the Aiken Department of Public Safety.

The incident happened at a store on Richland Avenue about 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday, according to a report. The employee told officers a woman entered the store and told the cashier that an armed robbery would occur “in the near future.”

“The suspect told the cashier while checking out, ‘Don't be scared, but I got a phone call that one of these stores is about to get robbed, and I don't think it's this one,'” the report stated. The employee said she believed the suspect was talking about a store across the street.

Officers described the woman as a black female wearing blue jeans, a purple T-shirt, a black jacket and carrying a white purse. She left the scene in a dark-colored sedan.
