City of Aiken and City of North Augusta residents are being directed to leave tree debris downed by the ice storm at the curb in front of their property for collection.
Pickup of tree debris will start next week, Sen. Tom Young wrote in an email newsletter to his constituents.
Yard debris consisting of limbs, grass clippings and leaves will be picked up at the curb at no extra charge, according to the City of Aiken website. Limbs must not be longer than 4 feet in length.
Residents living outside of the city limits should take storm debris to Aiken County's Barden Landfill located at 411 Connector Road in Graniteville.
If residents are not able to get debris to the landfill, they are encouraged to place tree debris off the roadway so safe travel is possible.
Aiken County Government stressed on its Facebook page that debris not taken to the landfill may remain on the roadside a considerable time before it is picked up.
