According to reports provided by the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office:
A Beech Island woman reported on Saturday that a juvenile subject shot her chicken in her yard on Pine Log Road. A witness said the subject had a small handgun that was believed to be a pellet gun because of “a lack of noise” when it was fired. The responding officer reported that the chicken was injured and appeared to be dying.
A Beech Island man reported on Saturday that money and medications were missing from his bedroom at his home on Swamp Road. He accused his male roommate of taking the items. The victim said the door to his bedroom could not be locked.
A burglary was reported at a home on Broadwater Loop in Aiken on Saturday.
An Aiken man reported on Saturday that someone had broken into his garage at his home on Cooley Road and had taken a band saw and an air compressor. The responding officer observed damage to the frame of the garage’s door.
A North Augusta man reported on Saturday that someone broke the front passenger window of his vehicle while it was parked outside a home on Hampton Circle. The victim, who was playing video games at the residence, said his wallet and sunglasses were missing from the vehicle.
A shoplifting incident was reported at a store on Dragstrip Road in Aiken on Saturday. A black male subject, 25 to 35 years of age, took an item, put it in his pants and left the store without paying for the item, according to the male complainant.
An Aiken man reported on Saturday that three window air conditioners were taken from a house that he owns on Goode Lane. He said an Augusta man who used to live there took the air conditioners and damaged the home when he moved out. The officer observed damage to the walls and floors and reported that the residence was “trashed inside as well as outside.”
A Columbia woman reported on Sunday that she got into an argument with a male subject, who struck her several times in the area around her face, during a party at the Aiken County Shrine Club on Columbia Highway. The responding officer and other deputies could not locate the subject among the approximately 200 people at the party.
