Lexington 42 Aiken 40


Lexington hit a shot with just under a second left in Friday night’s game to give Lexington a 42-40 victory. The loss puts Aiken (13-8, 4-3) further behind first-Place North Augusta in the region 5-AAAA standings.


Stacy Toole, Devante Gaiters and Deon Hicks each scored 10 points for the Hornets, who will travel to North Augusta on Tuesday for a crucial regional showdown.


Wagener-Salley 73 Blackville-Hilda 62


RJ Tyler and Tydavian Pough each had a double-double in Wagener-Salley’s (12-9, 5-5) win over Blackville-Hilda.


Tyler finished with 27 points and 13 rebounds. Pough scored 17 and grabbed 10 boards. Malcolm Stroman also finished in double figures with 13 points and eight rebounds.


Wagener-Salley will take on H-K-T Tuesday.


Calhoun County 76 Silver Bluff 36


Silver Bluff had a rough time with Calhoun County and ended up on the wrong end of a 76-36 blowout. Greg Dunbar led the way for Silver Bluff (5-12, 3-6) with seven points.


Barnwell will visit Silver Bluff on Tuesday.


Girls’ basketball

Lexington 45 Aiken 36


The Aiken girls’ basketball team fell to 6-15 on the season and 2-5 in Region 5-AAAA play after Friday nights 45-36 loss to Lexington. Alexis Odom scored 17 points for the Hornets.


Aiken will take on North Augusta on Tuesday.


Ridge Spring-Monetta 56 Williston-Elko 41


Friday night’s matchup between Ridge Spring-Monetta and Williston-Elko wasn’t as close as the team’s first meeting. The Trojans (13-4, 9-0 Region 4-A) came away with a 56-41 win this time.


Raven Valentine finished with a double-double. She had 14 points, 10 rebounds and four blocks in the game. Ty’Miyah Tyler had 14 points and was big on the defensive end as well. She had 9 steals in the game. Porsha Quattlebaum was the last Trojan in double figures with 12 points.


Wagener-Salley 68 Blackville-Hilda 46


Mya Landy and Ta’Nauziah Corley each broke the 20 point mark in Wagener-Salley’s 68-46 win over Blackville Hilda.


Landy had 21 and Corley finished with 20. The War Eagles (15-6, 9-1 Region 4-A) will play HKT next.
