One person was detained after a gun went off during a struggle at a home in Hahn Village on Thursday, according to the Aiken Department of Public Safety.

Quishon Islar, 19, was placed in the Aiken County detention center and had a hold placed on him for pending charges, according to Lt. Jake Mahoney, a spokesman for Aiken Public Safety.

Islar went to a home on Bradby Lane on Thursday night after getting in a telephone dispute with a resident of Bradby Lane, Mahoney said. He arrived carrying a firearm, according to the report.

The female resident of the home and her son got into a verbal altercation with Islar, during which the weapon was presented and a physical altercation ensued, Mahoney said. The weapon fired during the struggle, sending a round into the adjoining apartment, Mahoney said.

Mahoney said no one was injured from the gunfire; however, the female victimís son was taken to a hospital for minor injuries he suffered during the physical struggle.

Islar fled the scene but was located by officers a short distance away, Mahoney said.
