Spend the afternoon with the elephants before spending the evening with the circus.

The Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus is presenting its Super Circus Heroes program this week at Augusta's James Brown Arena.

Before the acrobats and clowns perform, a bit bigger attraction will be roaming around during the circus's Elephant Brunch.

“You are invited to get a taste of just how much these elephants ... can eat. They will snack on carrots, lettuce, apples, bananas and loaves of bread,” according to a release.

The brunch at 3 p.m. on Wednesday.

It is free and open to the public.

The elephants will appear again the next night, this time to perform alongside their fellow stars.

“Super Circus Heroes showcases wonders from the marvelous to the magnificent (and is) filled with superhuman athleticism, power and pageantry that will have children of all ages discovering their own superhuman strength,” according to the show's website.

The circus opens on Thursday at 7 p.m.

Other times are Friday at 7 p.m.; Saturday at 11 a.m. and 3 and 7 p.m. and Sunday at 1 and 5 p.m.

A school show will take place on Friday at 10:30 a.m.

Tickets range from $11 to $26 for general seating and $31 to $37 for VIP seats, according to a release.

The James Brown Arena is located at 601 Seventh St.
