Richard Allen said his idea of bringing a virtual office business to Aiken came from a work life that consisted of traveling to meet with consultants.


His business, Citizens Park Office & Conference Center, is located 640 Old Airport Road in Aiken.


The business officially opened on Feb. 1 and is looking to have its ribbon-cutting the first week of March.


With the Citizens Park Office & Conference Center, Allen is offering three main services.


The first is a physical, rented office space that comes with several amenities, such as office supplies and office furniture.


The second is a conference room setting where patrons can use the rooms for events or to meet with clients.


The third service is the virtual office, which Allen said is for those who may live out of town or state, but still want an Aiken presence.


The virtual office offers a physical address in Aiken to receive mail, packages and an opportunity to use the offices as needed.


Allen said his travels have led him to office settings that weren't very comfortable, which is why he decided to open the business.


“My goal was to look at the potential for someone who may be a long-distance consultant and give them that option to have a physical or virtual office in Aiken,” he said. “In addition, we offer other useful services that will all help to serve the Aiken area.”


The setup fee for an office space is $75 followed by a basic service fee of $85 per month, and a virtual office fee of $150 per month.
