According to reports provided by the Aiken Department of Public Safety:
A 46-year-old Springfield woman was detained for shoplifting on Wednesday after she tried to take a purse and a pair of leggings, valued at about $440, from a store in Aiken Mall without paying.
A 56-year-old Aiken man was detained for shoplifting on Wednesday after he tried to take batteries and a bag of nuts from a store without paying.
An unknown woman on Wednesday allegedly tried to use a counterfeit $100 bill to pay for items at a store on East Gate Drive. The bill passed the ink test but was later found to be counterfeit after the woman left.
An unknown person used a counterfeit $50 bill to pay for food at a restaurant on Whiskey Road on Wednesday.
An Aiken man reported fraud on Wednesday after discovering an unauthorized charge of about $530 on his bank card.
An Aiken woman reported fraudulent activity on her EBT card on Wednesday.
An unknown person gained entry into a coin-operated air compressor at a gas station on Whiskey Road on Wednesday and took about $20 in quarters.
A burglary was reported at a home on Marlboro Street on Wednesday. The owner reported a dryer, a hand truck and a gas tank missing.
A broken window was reported at a business on Richland Avenue on Tuesday.
A vehicle was reported stolen from Columbia Avenue on Tuesday.
According to reports provided by the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office:
An air conditioner unit was reported stolen from a building on Augusta Road in Aiken on Wednesday.
A burglary was reported on Riverdale Drive in Beech Island on Wednesday. An air conditioner unit and a gun were reported missing. An additional burglary was reported Wednesday on McDonald Street in Gloverville.
A vehicle break-in was reported on Old Thicket Place in Aiken on Wednesday. The owner reported a handgun missing.
