An Aiken woman reported on Thursday that two men tried to break into her home while she was inside, according to the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office.

The incident happened about 2 p.m. at a home on Vaucluse Road, according to a sheriff’s report.

The 67-year-old victim said she saw two unknown suspects walking up her driveway, and then she heard a knock on the door.

The victim said she then saw the suspects walking toward the back of her home, the report stated. She heard a window in the back door break, and she began to scream, at which point she saw the two suspects running away from the home.

An officer was able to lift a fingerprint from the back door.
