According to reports provided by the Aiken Department of Public Safety:

An Aiken woman found a handgun on the ground on Richland Avenue on Wednesday.

A 44-year-old Aiken woman was detained for shoplifting on Wednesday after she tried to take clothing items from a store in Aiken Mall without paying.

A 21-year-old Aiken man was detained for shoplifting on Thursday after he tried to take multiple items from a store on Whiskey Road without paying.

An Aiken woman reported on Thursday that someone used her credit card on more than 100 unauthorized transactions.

According to reports provided by the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office:

A Columbia man reported fraud on Thursday. The man said he signed his wallet over to the female suspect after he was arrested in April with the expectation that she would give it to his family. Upon his release from the jail, the victim said he realized the suspect used his credit card in multiple transactions around Aiken County and never gave the wallet to his family.

Two North Augusta men reported larceny on Thursday after they had multiple people at their Lorraine Drive home playing video games. The suspect asked to spend the night due to the late hour, and when the victims awoke the next morning, they realized that the suspect was gone and he’d reportedly taken three video game consoles and two televisions.

An air conditioner unit was reported stolen from a home on Corley Drive in North Augusta on Thursday.

Burglaries were reported on Thursday on Zachmann Street in Aiken and Beech Island Avenue in Beech Island.
