According to reports provided by the Aiken Department of Public Safety:

An 81-year-old woman reported between $1,500 and $2,000 missing from her purse in her room at an Aiken retirement home. The woman first accused her husband of taking the money but said it may have been one of the home’s employees.

An Aiken woman reported fraud on Monday after someone made a $13 charge on her husband’s credit card in San Francisco. The card was reportedly used two other times but the transactions didn’t go through.

An Aiken woman reported on Monday that someone opened multiple bank and credit card accounts in her name.

A 71-year-old Aiken man reported that someone made several fraudulent charges to his checking account. About $2,500 in funds had been transferred through seven transactions with Western Union.

A burglary was reported on Newberry Street on Monday. The owner reported a door kicked in and a television missing. Two men were seen fleeing the home when she arrived home.

Gunshots were reported on Aldrich Street about 7:45 p.m. on Monday. Officers investigated but found no evidence of shots fired. They reported the smell of fireworks was in the air.

A go-kart was reported missing from a home on Augusta Road in Gloverville on Monday.

A man was detained for criminal domestic violence on Monday after allegedly slapping a female “household member” during a dispute.

Burglaries were reported on Monday on Rubins Cottage Lane in Aiken and Wagontong Road in Wagener.

A vehicle break-in was reported on Monday on Pine Log Road in Beech Island.
