Police: Juveniles tried to steal chocolate, underwear

Two teenage boys were detained for shoplifting on Saturday after they tried to steal a number of items, including women's underwear, according to the Aiken Department of Public Safety.

The Graniteville teenagers, ages 15 and 16, were booked and released to their guardians. The incident happened about 4 p.m. on Saturday at the Walmart on Richland Avenue.

The boys gathered a case of soft drinks, a “Valentines Day package,” a pair of leggings, two pairs of panties, chocolate, beef jerky, beer and a riding boot, according to the report. They took the merchandise through an unoccupied checkout lane and placed it into bags before trying to exit the store.
