According to reports provided by the Aiken Department of Public Safety:
A 29-year-old Aiken man was detained on Wednesday for driving under suspension, failure to stop for blue lights and siren and failure to comply with a lawful order. An officer tried to pull the man over on Rudy Mason Parkway for failure to use a turn signal and a broken headlight, but the driver proceeded to Chatfield Street. He exited the car and tried to run from police but was apprehended.
An employee at a restaurant on Whiskey Road reported counterfeit money on Wednesday after an unknown man paid for his meal using two counterfeit $20 bills and then left the scene.
According to reports provided by the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office:
An unknown man took several items from an automotive store on Jefferson Davis Highway in Clearwater on Tuesday.
A burglary was reported on Rumley Road in Graniteville on Tuesday. The owner reported electronics and clothing missing.
Additional burglaries were reported on Village Circle East in Graniteville, Breeze Way in Graniteville, Augusta Road in Warrenville, Church Street in Beech Island and Happiness Lane in Beech Island.
A vehicle break-in was reported on Hamelin Road in Aiken on Tuesday. The vehicle was unlocked and the owner reported iTunes gift cards missing.
An additional vehicle break-in was reported on U.S. 78 in Aiken on Tuesday.
A vehicle was reported stolen from Velvet Court in Beech Island on Tuesday.
