Letter: Condolences offered after tragedy
I am Ray Charles Wooden Jr., the only survivor from the accident that occurred on York Street on March 20.
The same accident in which Lukisha N. Thomas was killed. Iím writing this letter to the state of South Carolina, letting them know I have been upset about not been acknowledged about a lot of things that have been going on. Also, on the acknowledgement of being the father of Ray Quan L. Wooden, Ray Von Dr. Wooden and Ray Shaun Wooden. The youngest of three was Lukisha N. Thomas. Kisha and I were together for eight years. It would have been nine on Nov. 29. I know how it is to grow up without a mother. I lost my mother when I was 6 years old, so I know how it is to be without a mother at a young age. Vivan Halloway Wooden was murdered in 1982.
So thereís loss along with the pain of the tragedy. It hurts when you are left in the dark knowing you will never see your mother again. So in closing, I send my condolences to the Thomas family and to Micheals, Thomas and DeoVion E. Thomas, who were my step kids.
Ray Charles Wooden Jr.
