According to reports provided by the Aiken Department of Public Safety:
A 21-year-old Fairfax man was detained for shoplifting on Thursday after he tried to shoplift a shirt from a store in Aiken Mall by hiding the shirt in his pants.
An Aiken woman reported prescription medications missing from her vehicle on Huron Drive on Thursday.
Officers were called to an open door at a home on South Boundary Avenue on Thursday. The home was cleared and the door secured after officers found no signs of forced entry.
A Beaufort man was detained on bench warrants from Charleston on Thursday after he flagged officers down at the intersection of Richland Avenue and Laurens Street. The man told officers people had been chasing him and that he’d been hiding in the bushes. Officers smelled a strong odor of alcohol on the man, and after checking for warrants found he was wanted in Charleston.
According to reports provided by the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office:
A 29-year-old Warrenville woman was detained for driving under the influence on Thursday after she was pulled over on Sudlow Lake Road in North Augusta for driving erratically. The woman smelled strongly of alcohol and exhibited signs of intoxication. She was taken into custody after failing multiple field sobriety tests.
A burglary was reported on Trotter Court in Jackson on Thursday. The owner reported firearms missing.
A vehicle break-in was reported on Country Glenn Avenue in Graniteville on Thursday. The vehicle was unlocked.
