According to reports provided by the Aiken Department of Public Safety:
An Aiken man was detained for shoplifting on Thursday after he tried to conceal a beer and a pack of baby wipes and leave a store on York Street.
A 33-year-old Aiken woman was charged with illegal transport of liquor and a 32-year-old Aiken man was charged with simple possession of marijuana and open container after a caller reported loud music and drug use in a vehicle on Colleton Avenue on Monday. Officers found an open beer in the center console, a half-empty bottle of vodka in the backseat and marijuana in the man’s pants pocket.
A 53-year-old Aiken man was detained for disorderly conduct on Monday after officers found him sitting outside a restaurant on Richland Avenue with an empty malt liquor bottle in a paper bag. The man was reportedly using profanity, and when asked by officers before a search if he had any weapons, he told the officer he had a knife and that he would stab the officer with it.
Officers investigated an area on Bradby Lane on Monday after they heard gunshots. People in the area said they heard the shots, but officers were not able to locate the origin of the shots.
Officers investigated another call of shots fired at a car wash on Richland Avenue about 10 a.m. Monday. There, they found a softball-sized hole in the glass on the front right corner of the building and glass fragments on the ground. A small, mushroomed bullet fragment was found on the sidewalk near the corner.
According to reports provided by the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office:
A vehicle break-in was reported on Williams Street in Graniteville on Monday. The owner reported a metal detector missing from the unlocked vehicle.
An additional vehicle break-in was reported on Callie Crossing Drive in Graniteville on Monday. The vehicle was unlocked, and an iPod was missing.
A North Augusta woman reported on Monday that someone broke multiple windows in a vehicle and a home on Duncan Road in North Augusta.
A burglary was reported on Augusta Road in Warrenville on Monday. The owner reported a toolbox missing.
