Editor’s note: After discussing the important role that veterans play in our lives, students in Kerry Rains’ 4th grade class at St. Mary’s School wanted to thank local veterans. Working together in small groups they wrote the following letters:
In our class today, we discussed what Veterans Day is about.
We want to thank our veterans for what they’ve done. It is really nice of you to fight for us.
It makes us feel good to know that someone is willing to give up their life for the people of the U.S.A.. We thank our veterans who suffered in bad weather, but didn’t give up for our freedom. Thank you veterans.
Today, we talked about Veterans Day. We are thankful to you for fighting for our freedom. We are very greatful that you would risk your life for us. We are thankful for you making our lives better every day. Thank you for all you have done for us.
Thank you veterans for risking your lives for our freedom. Not only relatives, but also teens and our parents are veterans who risk their lives for us. Even if it is not fun and you don’t get paid much,you still serve and risk your life for us so that we can live in a free world. Thanks.
Thank you veterans for keeping our country safe and free. Thank you for putting your life on the line for us. We pray for you so you don’t get hurt fighting wars and helping people.
We are thankful that you have served our country for us, and that you are willing to risk your life for us. Thank you for serving for the U.S.A.,and your commitment to others. If you had not served our country, we wouldn’t be here today.
