According to reports provided by the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office:
Deputies responded to a third-degree assault and battery on Black Swamp Road in Beech Island after a female victim went to an unknown residence on Black Swamp Road to talk to a female subject. The victim stated to officers that the subject thought she was messing around with her boyfriend and went to go talk to her. The subject then grabbed a baseball bat and struck the victim.
Deputies responded to an alarm and open door at S.E. Peters Inc. on Frontage Road in Aiken on Friday. They found no damage and no signs of forced entry and secured the door.
An Aiken man reported an unknown subject stole approximately 20 Xanax prescription pills from his medication bottle and several cigarettes from a new pack at his Partridge Bend Road home.
A man driving on Lawana Road and Myrtle Street in Gloverville was detained for driving under the influence on Friday after being pulled over for unmatched vehicle tags and having a rear left taillight out. The man was asked repeatedly to step back into his vehicle and show his driver’s license. After the deputy smelled alcohol, the man refused to take a field sobriety test.
